Is Ski-Manager really free to play?

Yes, completely! Ski-Manager is 100% free to play with no mandatory purchases. Optional premium currency (Génépis) can be used to speed up certain actions, but every single feature — slopes, lifts, staff, tournaments, finances — is accessible to every player at no cost, forever.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No download or installation is required. Ski-Manager runs entirely in your web browser on any device — desktop, laptop, tablet or mobile. Simply visit ski-manager.net, create a free account and start playing instantly.

How do I create an account?

Click the blue "Sign Up" button on the homepage or visit ski-manager.net/register. You only need a valid email address and a username. Once registered you can log in immediately and start building your resort.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

On the login page, click "Forgot password?" and enter the email address linked to your account. You will receive a reset link within a few minutes. If it does not arrive, check your spam folder. If you still have trouble, contact us.

Can I play in multiple languages?

Yes! Ski-Manager is fully available in English and French. You can switch language at any time using the language selector in the top navigation bar. Your preference is saved automatically so it persists between sessions.

How do I start building my ski resort?

After registering, you are taken to your resort's interactive map. Start by placing slopes (pistes) from a high point to a lower point on the mountain. Then install a ski lift to bring visitors back up. Once you have at least one open slope and one operating lift, you can open your resort to visitors via the Tourist Information Centre building.

What are the different slope difficulty levels?

Ski-Manager features four difficulty ratings: Green (beginner), Blue (intermediate), Red (advanced) and Black (expert). Each type attracts different visitor profiles and generates different revenue. A well-balanced resort with all four difficulty types attracts the widest range of tourists and maximises daily income.

How do ski lifts work?

Ski lifts transport visitors from the base of the mountain to the top of your slopes. You can build multiple lift types — from basic drag lifts and T-bars to high-speed gondolas and detachable quads. Higher-capacity lifts reduce waiting times and increase visitor satisfaction. Make sure each lift is assigned to service the slopes it serves.

How do I manage my resort finances?

The Finances section shows your daily revenue (ski passes, lessons, hospitality) versus your daily costs (staff wages, lift maintenance, building upkeep). Your resort earns money whenever it is open and visitors are on the mountain. You can take out a bank loan to fund construction during the early stages, then repay it as revenue grows. Setting competitive ski pass prices is key — too high and visitors stay away, too low and your margins suffer.

What is Reputation and why does it matter?

Reputation is your resort's public image score. It rises when you maintain high slope quality, excellent visitor satisfaction, successful tournaments and active marketing. A higher reputation attracts more visitors per day, unlocks higher ski pass prices and improves your position on the global leaderboard. Neglecting slope grooming or having frequent incidents will damage your reputation over time.

What buildings can I construct?

There are dozens of buildings available, spanning several categories: hospitality (restaurants, chalets, hotels), services (ski school, equipment rentals, medical centre, patrol), entertainment (terrain parks, après-ski bars, event venues), infrastructure (snowmaking systems, grooming depots, energy plants) and marketing (mountain webcams, tourism office, social media). Each building adds daily costs but also boosts visitor numbers, reputation or staff efficiency.

How does snowmaking work?

You can install snow cannons on individual slopes. When activated, the cannons produce artificial snow — useful for extending your season during warm or low-snowfall periods. Snowmaking consumes water and energy, so you need to manage your utility supply and budget. Better equipment produces more snow per hour. Cannons are automatically highlighted on your resort map when they are operating.

What is the Terrain Park?

The Terrain Park is a specialised area for freestyle skiing and snowboarding. It features kickers, rails, boxes and halfpipes. Building and upgrading your terrain park attracts younger visitors and freestyle enthusiasts, boosting visitor diversity and daily income. You can also host terrain park competitions to earn extra reputation.

What do mountain webcams do?

Mountain webcams broadcast simulated live feeds of your slopes to attract visitors and boost daily reputation. You can configure the number of cameras (1–10), image quality (SD/HD/4K), night vision, weather overlay and social media sharing. Each upgrade increases the daily visitor attraction bonus but also adds to your running costs. The cameras automatically reflect your resort's open or closed status.

How do I hire staff?

Open the Staff section from the main menu to hire, train and manage employees. You can recruit ski instructors, slope groomers, ski patrol officers, marketing managers, resort directors and more. Each staff member has a skill level, salary and specialisation. Higher-skilled staff command higher wages but deliver better results — instructors bring in more lesson revenue, groomers keep slopes in better condition and patrol officers reduce accident rates.

How does slope grooming work?

Slopes degrade in quality over time due to skier traffic and weather. Deploying groomers at night restores slope quality for the next day. You can assign specific grooming machines (pistenbullys) to specific slopes. Higher-quality slopes attract more visitors and command higher pass prices. Consistently well-groomed slopes also contribute to your reputation score.

How do tournaments work?

You can host ski racing tournaments on your slopes via the Events & Venues section. Tournaments attract elite athletes, sports media and additional tourists, significantly boosting your daily visitor count and reputation during the event. The outcome depends on slope quality, venue facilities and staff. Successful tournaments are also counted in your global leaderboard score.

How is my resort compared to other players?

Your resort is scored based on total reputation, visitor numbers, cumulative revenue and tournament wins. All scores are displayed on the global leaderboard. The leaderboard updates daily and ranks resorts from around the world. Your goal is to reach the top by managing your resort efficiently, investing wisely and hosting successful events.

What is Génépis premium currency?

Génépis is the optional premium currency in Ski-Manager. It can be used to instantly complete building construction, skip waiting timers or unlock cosmetic upgrades. It is never required — every feature and piece of content is accessible without spending Génépis. You can earn small amounts of Génépis through in-game achievements and daily bonuses.

Is my progress saved automatically?

Yes. All actions in Ski-Manager are saved to the server in real time. There is no manual save required. Your resort continues to run while you are offline — visitors still arrive, finances update daily and buildings continue operating. Just log back in to check your progress and make decisions.

What browsers are supported?

Ski-Manager is compatible with all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and Opera. For the best experience, use the latest version of your preferred browser on a desktop or laptop. The game is also fully playable on mobile browsers on iOS and Android.
